Unique Characteristics:

Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) is an award-winning private university located on a beautiful, 300-acre campus in the New England region of the United States, just one hour from Boston. We provide a dynamic and diverse education in an excellent location.

  • 75+ countries represented by our students
  • 20% of SNHU’s 4,000 students are international
  • Located in Manchester, the 7th “Most Livable U.S. City” (as designated by Forbes)
  • Recognized as “Most Innovative” regional university in the North by U.S. News and World Report

Here at SHNU students will find a close-knit, supportive community. Through classwork, labs, internships, and a mentor, students accumulate the skills, knowledge, and experience employers are looking for.

Because our class sizes are small, our faculty and staff are able to challenge, support, and really get to know our students. Our academic and career advisors will be dedicated to guiding and encouraging students every step of the way! It’s all part of the SNHU difference.

CAMPUS LIFE

The Southern New Hampshire University campus is always growing. Our goal is to provide the best possible environment for SNHU students to live, learn, and enjoy college life.

Our residence halls feature a wide range of different living arrangements, including traditional halls, apartment-style living, larger suites, and more. Monadnock Hall, completed in 2017, and Kingston Hall, completed in 2018, are our newest residence halls, and feature amenities such as a fitness center, entertainment space, common lounges with flat screen TVs, and even an academic classroom.

Of course, residence halls aren’t the only facilities on campus that students want to know about. The academic buildings at SNHU are equally impressive, and include a new library, engineering and technology building, and welcome center. This new welcome center, known as the Gustafson Center, houses the departments of admission, career development, and alumni relations—ensuring that each step of the SNHU life cycle is represented under one roof.

We also recently broke ground on a new home for our College of Engineering, Technology, and Aeronautics. This cutting-edge facility, set to open in late 2019, sits in the heart of campus and represents the massive commitment that SNHU has made to further developing STEM programs on campus.

Athletes will be happy to learn that 2018 saw the opening of Penmen Stadium, a 1,500-seat athletic stadium that plays home to many of our NCAA Division II sports teams. The stadium boasts a turf field, high-tech lighting system, 8-lane track, and state-of-the-art sound and scoreboard system.

We have 20 NCAA Division II teams – not to mention dozens of club and intramural sports. We are also proud to host 4 varsity esports teams that competing nationally.

With more than 70 clubs and organizations, life at SNHU is busy and active. From the International Student Association to the student-run newspaper, The Penmen Press, students are sure to find a club that interests them.

And with 16 cities in 13 countries around the globe to choose from, the Study Abroad Program at SNHU encourages students to explore the world.
